What is a fanlisting?
Official definition
Quoth TAFL:
A fanlisting is a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. Fans from around the world submit their information to their approved fanlisting and they are then listed to show their love for the subject.
My interpretation
Fanlistings have become quite the fad since it first caught on several years ago. It first started with TFL but now, anime and manga related fanlistings fall under a separate network, TAFL. Both joining and maintaining fanlistings have become quite a hobby for webmasters. Right now, many webmasters have a "fanlisting collective", where they list all the fanlistings they own and have joined. The fanlisting-owner community has grown quite large; just take a look at the TAFL board.
Who is Susumu?
Peace Maker Kurogane
Peace Maker Kurogane is an anime and manga series by Chrono Nanae. It tells the story of the Shinsengumi during the end of the Tokugawa Period in Japan. It is a historical setting so many characters are people who actually existed. Both the art and the story are stunning and is worth the read/watch!
Yamazaki Susumu
Yamazaki Susumu is one of the minor characters in Peace Maker Kurogane. He is a ninja from the Oniwa Banshu. If you're familiar with Rurouni Kenshin, at all, you would have heard of this clan. Anyway, Susumu is part of the Shinsengumi and is the chief investigator. Basically he is a information gathering spy for them. The Shingengumi fights on the side of the shogunate in Edo (present day Tokyo). If you're familiar with Japanese history, you know that the Tokugawa period ended soon after as the Choushuu revolution brings in the Meiji.

The Layout
The current layout features Susumu from an image in chapter 8, when he's investigating on a rooftop at night. Image credit goes to MangaCity for the scanlations; brush and texture credits to Insomniac.
